Primrose Cottage is a unique, small day nursery offering a warm and welcoming home-from-home environment where every child is valued and supported as an individual. Our practice is firmly rooted in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which underpins all aspects of children's learning and development. Within our intimate setting, children benefit from personalised care, meaningful relationships, and opportunities to learn through play and explorations.

Drawing inspiration from the Curiosity Approach, Steiner philosophy, and Reggio Emilia principles, we create engaging and enriching experiences that foster creativity, independence, confidence, and resilience. We encourage children to explore the world around them, follow their interests, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Sessions & Fees

Opening Hours
We are open Monday to Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

Session Times

• Full Day: 8:00am – 5:00pm

• Funded Session Only: 8:30am – 4:00pm

Additional Clubs

• Breakfast Club: 8:00am – 8:30am (£4.00 per session)

• Late Club: 4:00pm – 5:00pm (£8.50 per session)

Funded Places

We offer funded childcare hours stretched across the year:

• 22 hours per week

• 11 hours per week

• We have limited term time only spaces 8.30-4pm 4 days per week

Meals & Snacks

• Fresh hot meals are provided daily by Zebedee's at £3.70 per meal.

• A charge of £1 per funded session applies for snacks.

Enrichment Activities

To enhance children's learning experiences, we offer a wide range of extracurricular activities, including:

• Forest School

• Diddi Dance

• Celebrations

• Visitors

• Cooking Activities

• Educational Trips and Outings- Farm, beach etc

Throughout the year, we also welcome a variety of visiting experiences and workshops, such as Little City, reptile encounters, and seasonal events including visits from Santa.

A charge of £1 per funded session applies to cover these enrichment activities.

Meals, snacks and enrichment activities are optional.

Additional Hours

Any hours attended outside of funded sessions are charged at £8.50 per hour and are invoiced monthly.

Holiday Closures

We are closed on all Bank Holidays and one week the Christmas period, closing on Christmas Eve and reopening when teem starts in January.
