At Little Stones we believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life. We believe children thrive in happy, loving, safe, secure environments and we strive to make their time with us all these plus fun, stimulating and educational.

We believe in the wonder of the great outdoors and all it has to offer. We aim to ignite a childs curiosity and enthusiasm for learning by building on their capacity to learn, and form positive relationships.

Every child is a Unique individual whom become strong and independent through positive relationships, they develop, investigate and explore through quality environments designed to peek their interests and guide then tool to investigate. We believe in natural materials and this theme is continued throughout the Pre-School.

All children develop and learn in many different ways and we believe with a whole holistic approach taking lessons from Forest School, Reggio Emilia ,Steiner and following the EYFS guidance. We strive to have happy, strong, independent, resilient children, whom are ready to leave Little Stones and embark on their next chapter. We celebrate this big transition ensuring the children are well prepared for the next step of school life.

Little Stones are committed to working with children, parents and the community to ensure the rights and safety of our children are paramount.

Outdoor activities are child-led, we are there to support and guide the children, but not to direct their learning. This gives the chance for children to really develop their imagination, curiosity and creativity when carrying out tasks. There are no limitations to forest school learning and children are free to let their imaginations run wild as they attempt problem solving and exploration of their surroundings. They may decide to work independently, working on developing their own problem solving skills and creativity, or they may join up with other children and work within teams. This is excellent for children’s social development, as they will learn how to collaborate within a team, and how to share their ideas and to listen to others, we also believe in bringing the inside out and the outside in.

The main hall we set up to provide and promote learning opportunities in all areas of the Early Years Foundation stage. The children will be able to free-flow and where ever their learning takes them we will follow and provide opportunities for them to flourish.

We aim to promote and guide a child’s confidence and resilience so they will grow significantly and this confidence can then be carried into other areas of their lives.
